Scott Altman is an award-winning writer-director and executive producer with two decades of experience creating compelling content across film, television, music videos, commercials, and branded campaigns. Combining creative storytelling, development expertise, and production leadership, he guides projects from concept and script stage through casting, production, post-production, and international distribution.
Scott began his career in the film industry as a teenager, working as a pyrotechnician at Ardmore Studios, before training in animation and VFX. He joined MTV in London, where he created Promax award-winning campaigns for the MTV Europe Music Awards, earning international recognition for his creative work.
In 2013, he won Pearl & Dean Director of the Year for a cinema advert promoting Hot Press magazine. That year he worked with Kanye West and subsequently directed and executive-produced music videos for Shift K3Y, Philip George & Anton Powers, and Jax Jones, which have received millions of views online and ranked in the Top 20 most downloaded videos on iTunes. He was also commissioned by Saatchi & Saatchi to direct adverts for FreshBe and directed a TV pilot featuring Alan Ford (Snatch), Adam Fogerty (Legend), Natasha Byrne (Holby City), and emerging talent.
Scott’s documentary on homelessness, narrated by Irish broadcaster and music journalist Dave Fanning and featuring Academy Award-winner Glen Hansard and Academy Award-nominee Jim Sheridan, won Best Short Documentary at the Dublin Independent Film Festival. In 2021, his independently produced feature film shot in Los Angeles was released on Apple TV and Tubi (US), and Amazon Prime Video across English-speaking territories worldwide.
Alongside long-form drama and film projects, Scott actively develops new film and television series, working with established producers, writers, and streaming platforms. He also leads the creation of high-impact short-form and branded content, applying cinematic sensibilities and strategic production expertise to social, digital, and commercial campaigns.
Scott continues to pursue opportunities that allow him to write, direct, and develop ambitious projects, blending creative vision with production leadership to deliver compelling stories for audiences worldwide.
