Synopsis: Riot Club is an urban-comedy centred on Eddie Belmont, a former boxer now managing a community boxing gym for local teenagers alongside his longtime friend Barry Rig.
The film blends gritty social realism with sharp comedic beats, exploring friendship, ambition, and the challenges of mentoring youth in a rough urban environment. Featuring a cast of seasoned actors and emerging talent, Riot Club delivers a mix of humour, tension, and heartfelt moments, giving audiences a taste of a larger world crafted for long-form television.

The Story Behind Riot Club

Riot Club was originally conceived as a pilot project to showcase the world and characters of a larger feature film written by J.R. Shephard. The story has since evolved into a television series concept, with an entire season written.

The short was shot on a tight two-day schedule with limited resources, yet secured acclaimed actors Alan Ford (Snatch) and Adam Fogerty (Legend), who brought depth and experience to the production. Director Scott Altman admitted he was initially apprehensive about directing such seasoned talent, but once on set, the collaboration flowed naturally.

Audiences who’ve seen the film frequently comment: “I’d watch that if it was on TV” — a strong indicator of its long-form potential.
